Sparrow Bar + Cookshop

Looking for t'afia? It's now Sparrow Bar + Cookshop. As of August 2012, the transformation was complete in turning high-profile Houston chef Monica Pope's über-local ingredients and restaurant interior into what it is today. The change in name is matched by a tweaked menu, which now features plenty of sharable, under-$20 dishes like a Thai-style stroganoff, lots of marinated tofu iterations, mustard-coated rabbit tenderloin and more. There was also an interior update that added a larger bar area, an enormous wood community table and revamped lighting as well as plenty of other retro-industrial details. What still remains the same, however, is Monica Pope's penchant for culinary complexity, something that will hopefully never change.
The new uniforms at Sparrow include blue suede shoes and leather welding aprons.
