Andalucia Tapas & Taverna
|
Youssef Nafaa brought the tapas craze to Houston in the 1990s with his first restaurant, Mi Luna, and its decline in recent years after being sold has left a void for inner loop tapas lovers. Luckily Nafaa is back in the game with Andalucia Tapas & Taverna. Sharing a first-floor location in the Houston Pavilions with Nafaa's latest Mia Bella incarnation, Andalucia serves up dozens of hot and cold tapas, including Spanish white anchovies, traditional potato-based tortilla Española, sauteed mussels in tomato sofrito sherry sauce and sweet piquillo peppers stuffed with goat cheese and pear chutney. For those who prefer large plates, Andalucia also offers great Spanish dishes like lamb tagine with apricots and almonds, grilled fish, and a superb traditional paella, or Spanish seafood stew. And of course, Andalucia has a stage set up for flamenco music and dancing on Thursdays for the total southern Spain sensory immersion.
