Italian fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna has always had a presence in Houston thanks to men's upscale boutiques, but the clothier has a place all its own at The Galleria (in a prime space wedged between Chanel and Ralph Lauren on the mall's luxury row). The 4,300 square foot store is a sleek ode to fine fabrics, customer service and tailoring and while Zegna garners raves for its suiting options, the brand has expanded into contemporary sportswear, fragrances and accessories. Zegna's forward-thinking extends to pieces such as the EcoTech Solar jacket, which incorporates solar panels on the jacket that in turn recharges devices like iPods. Oh, and the solar panels also power a heating system in the collar. Not bad for company known for old-fashioned craftmanship.
Fabrics used for Zegna suits include, wool, cashmere and mohair found in Australia, Mongolia and South Africa.
