Step off the train and into the urban realm. Though only seven miles long, METRORail connects the core of Houston culture.
This station bridges Rice University and Hermann Park — both full of trees, great for running or exploring one of the most beautiful parts of Houston.
Along with a wooded area, Hermann Park includes the Houston Japanese Garden and Miller Outdoor Theatre. The park is a popular place for picnics, frisbee and the seasonal shows at the theater, where seating on the hill is always free.
Miller's hill is perfect for iceblocking. Buy large chunks of ice at West Alabama Ice House and don't forget to bring a towel.
