CBS sportscaster Jim Nantz and Courtney Richards to marry on Pebble Beach's 7thhole
CBS sportscaster and Houston's own Jim Nantz and Courtney Richards are set to say "I do" this weekend at Pebble Beach, CultureMap has learned from a source close to the couple.
Nantz and Richards will exchange vows on the picturesque seventh hole of one of the world's most famous golf courses on Saturday. They are staying at the Lodge at Pebble Beach. Golf greats Arnold Palmer and Nick Faldo (Nantz's CBS golf partner) have been spotted at the hotel (according to Twitter accounts) and are expected to be at the wedding. Paul Marchand, head pro at Shadow Hawk Golf Club and Nantz’s former college roommate, is also a guest.
Much of the golf world is already in California with the U.S. Open set to be played at San Francisco's Olympic Club next week.
Nantz, 53, proposed to Richards, 33, in 2010 while on vacation with his close friend, former President George H.W. Bush at the Bush family compound in Walker's Point Maine. Nantz and Richards met while she worked in sports marketing for IMG, which also represents Nantz.
Nantz's previous 26-year-marriage to his wife, Lorrie, ended acrimoniously in 2009 when he was ordered to pay nearly $1 million a year in alimony and child support for the couple's daughter.
Nantz, the lead voice for CBS Sports, is said to earn more than $8 million a year.
The proud University of Houston graduate continues to have strong Houston ties, where he has established the Nantz National Alzheimer Center at Methodist Hospital. His father, Jim Nantz Jr. passed away in 2008 after having suffered with Alzheimer's.
