Psychic Pets: CultureMap Edition
Arizona, VCU and Kansas keep Patch and Zoë almost perfect
"Nobody in the world thought we could win this game," Arizona's Kevin Parrom said after his team upset Duke 93-77 Thursday night.
Once again the NCAA insiders counted out our pair of eerily prescient pets in the inaugural CultureMap psychic animal NCAA bracket competition. With Corfu the cat crashing and burning in the Southeast and Sushi the Beta Fish's middling East regional picks, Patch the Pig and Zoë the Dog have emerged as leaders in psychic sports ability and bracket wins.
Patch's run continues to amaze in the Southwest bracket. With wins by Kansas and VCU, Patch has correctly predicted the outcome of 13 out of 14 games — a 93 percent accuracy rate — with his only miss coming in Florida State's win over Notre Dame.
And Zoë has been nearly as good in the West regional. She lost some ground by counting out UConn in the second round, but her pick of Arizona over Duke puts her at a very impressive 12 out of 14.
We can't wait to see if Kansas, Arizona, Patch and Zoë can keep going all the way.
