Kids and classical music make for a perfect Saturday morning combo
Nothing like starting kids early on the path to appreciating the cultural arts. And no entity understands that better than the Houston Symphony, which each December hosts the "Magical Musical Morning" for wee ones and older youngsters.
Kiddos and their families poured into the ballroom of The Houstonian for a morning of musical play that included games, arts and crafts and an instrument "petting zoo." Kids of all ages tested their talents on drums, xylophones, trumpets and other instruments while creating their own musical scores. Add playing dress up for a photo booth to the entertainments.
The morning of musical play included brunch and holiday shopping at a pop-up boutique compliments of the symphony. Heading up the lively event was chair Jenny Staff Johnson, who was joined by co-chairs Julie Barrett and Katie Forney. Houston Symphony CEO Mark Hanson and wife Christina and their youngsters were part of the fun.
Morning music masters with either children or grandchildren in tow included Julie and Seth Barrett, Betty and Jesse Tutor, Viviana Denechaud, Joella and Steve Mach, Christie and Ed Billings, Marcia and Brig Smart and Melissa and Michael Mithoff.
