Strength in numbers: Young professionals connect to support Houston's performingarts
As if the city's future influential philanthropists didn't have enough socials at which to see and be seen, the "Holiday Happy Hour for the Arts" at Momentum Audi Tuesday confirmed that there's no respite for young professionals with a fondness for all things artful.
The easygoing get-together, hosted by active groups including Houston Ballet's Ballet Barre, Houston Grand Opera's O.N., Houston Symphony's Young Professionals Backstage and Society for the Performing Arts, assembled 150 movers and shakers in an effort to gain strength by sharing connections and resources.
Guests chatted about upcoming events like SPA's SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody and STOMP in January, Houston Young People for the Arts' 1920s-inspired gala honoring founder Heather Pray at the Majestic Metro in February, Houston Symphony's concert version of Wozzeck in March, Stanton Welch's La Bayadère and HGO's Show Boat early next year.

A festively decorated Christmas tree and many shiny German vehicles served as the backdrop for the party.
A small offering from Phoenicia, the Green Spritzer specialty cocktail by Dripping Springs Vodka and beer by Saint Arnold Brewing Co. added to the friendly ambiance.
