Houston Zoo inhabitants welcome 4,000 party animals to Feast With the Beasts fora roarin' good time
If you count every critter from the lions and tigers and bears down to the jellyfish, you would discover that the Houston Zoo has 6,000 residents. Add to that the 4,000 partygoers who landed there Friday night for the annual Feast With the Beasts and you have one rockin' party scene.
The sellout crowd packed zoo grounds as guests grazed through the fields of food stations that offered light bites and libations from almost 60 vendors.
Taste of Texas, on board since Feast With the Beasts' inception in 2006, led the food parade with its servings of Angus beef tenderloin and pecan pie squares. Salivating guests lined up at Little Daddy's Gumbo Bar for steamy bowls of gumbo. The shrimp and grits and the pecan pie whipped cheese cake at Boudreaux's Cajun Kitchen had a huge crowd of fans as well.
There were up-close-and-personal encounters with a variety of animals and a few of the larger residents to observe before their early bedtime.
Two-legged party animals included Sabrina and Patrick Stubblefield, Michelle Tarallo, Pasha Grigoryev, Chip McCann, Jessica Hartstein, Steffie and Ross Tomson, Lisa Carlos, Brad Horvatich, Sebastian Boileau, Melissa Seuffert, Kevin Gilbert and Anya and Eric Angermeier.
