Frightfully fun Boo Ball rakes in nearly $1.3 million for Ronald McDonald House
Costume-clad philanthropic Houstonians rallied at Downtown’s Hilton Americas – Houston to raise big bucks for Ronald McDonald House (RMH) at the “Boo Ball: The Lost Lagoon.” Chairs Suzanne and Bucky Farrow, along with honorary chairs Jan and Oniel Mendenhall, partnered with RMH to host a packed ballroom of 1,200 guests at the Halloween-inspired biennial gala themed.
The frightfully fun night, emceed by former KTRK newsman Don Nelson, honored long-time supporters Joelle and Mitch Derrick and Derrick Equipment Company.
Attendees hit the dance floor to music by the band The Grooves and continued dancing the night away as nearly 100 young professionals joined the festivities for the inaugural Young Professionals After-Party hosted by Hasti Taghi.
The evening raised approximately $1.27 million for the children and families of Ronald McDonald House Houston, which provides a caring home away from home for families with critically ill children in the Texas Medical Center.
The societal characters who donned their finest Halloween duds included: Debbie and Ozzie Bauer, Amir Taghi, Lisa and Tom Kretzschmar, Lesha and Tom Elsenbrook, Mary and Ernest Redmon, Philamena and Arthur Baird, Mariyam Khreibani, Heather and Paul Buckhart, Trini Mendenhall, and Nancy and Jack Dinerstein.
