What: “Fuchsia is the New Navy: A Celebration of Color”
Where:Tootsies
The scoop: Eighties vibes and bright pops of pink ruled the party scene at “Fuchsia is the New Navy: A Celebration of Color” at Tootsies. The anniversary celebration of The Diaper Foundation featured an exclusive fashion show by Sachin & Babi and personal appearance by creative director and co-founder, Babi Ahluwalia.
The event also honored Tootsies store director, Shelley Taylor Ludwick, a longtime supporter of the Diaper Foundation.
The sold-out event raised $25,430 for The Diaper Foundation, which helps underprivileged families acquire adequate diapering supplies for their children. Hope Ewing founded The Diaper Foundation in 2009 and provides assistance to multiple organizations including Life Houston, The House of Tiny Treasures, Small Steps Nurturing Center, and Star of Hope.
The evening marked the U.S. unveiling of Sachin & Babi’s Resort 2020 collection. Tootsies is the first retailer to show the collection and received select styles in advance of retailers across the country. Ahluwalia was in-store for one-on-one personal styling appointments, dressing Tootsies customers in the very latest from Sachin & Babi.
Bright cheetah prints, statement shoulders, neons, and bold sequins ruled the runway, much to the delight of glamorous crowd. Throughout the evening, guests sipped on the Fleur De Lis signature cocktail, noshed on party bites by Monarch Hospitality and grooved to music by DJ Senega.
Event hosts included Ericka Bagwell, Leisa Holland Nelson, Megan Hotze, Torsha Johnson, Shawntell McWilliams, Lisa Oren, Roz Pactor, and Vicki Rizzo.
