5 fun reasons every social Houstonian should attend CultureMap's Pink Party this week
The temperatures in Houston may have dropped, but this week is scorching with must-attend charity events — not to mention Astros playoff fever. Savvy and social Houstonians may find themselves torn as to what to attend.
Fortunately, smart locals can enjoy both at The Pink Party, where you can catch the game, sip, shop, and nibble in style. The chic event (co-sponsored by CultureMap) raises funds for Real Men Wear Pink and The American Cancer Society (apropos for Breast Cancer Awareness Month).
Support the 'Stros
Show up early to Shops at Arrive (formerly West Avenue) and nab a space in front of the big screen TVs that will broadcast Game 5 of the Astros/Boston Red Sox ALCS showdown. (Be sure to high-five some of the dashing local gents who're participating in the Real Men Wear Pink drive this month.)
Sip and nosh
No stadium brew here. At the Pink Party, you and your date can enjoy cocktails from Wheatley Vodka or wine from Union Wine Company and Cru Wine Bar. With due respect to game time hot dogs and pretzels, Pink Party kicks it up a notch, with bites from Eddie V's, Dolce Bacio, Pondicheri, Tiff's Treats, KICPOPS, and more.
Shop
Need a break between innings? Or, is your date more of a shopper than a sports nut? Take a stroll through retailers such as Tootsies, Suitsupply, Ann Sacks, Casa Houston, Charles Weiss, Dr. Forrest Roth, Azur Salon, Carlo Chiocchio, Picked Flower Co., and more.
Celebrate
Snap a pic at the Photobooth, check out art by Charles Weiss and live fashion sketches from Rongrong Illustration, and get down to some killer tunes with the DJ after the Astros win.
Pink is the new orange
Astros fans won’t be blamed for showing up in orange, but as this is a breast cancer fundraiser, guests are encouraged to don their hottest pink for this chic soirée.
