Gallery exhibition draws heavy-hitter crowd and welcomes artist's widow

The 411: Long-time family friend of the late artist Kenneth Noland, Meredith Long welcomed the artist's widow, Paige Noland, along with approximately 20 of his handmade paper works for a special exhibition set to run through Oct. 18. Recognized as one of the best-known American color field painters, Noland died in 2010 and the Houston show is one of the few on view since his death. Joining Long in welcoming the tony crowd that turned out for the opening reception were his wife, Cornelia Long, and their daughter, Martha Long.
Who: Perusing the works on paper were Museum of Fine Arts, Houston director Gary Tinterow and Christopher Gardner, MFAH curator Alison de Lima Greene, Jeanie Kilroy Wilson and Wally Wilson, Sally Avery, Patty and Bill Porter, Judy and Rodney Margolis and Paulette Streeval.
