Man Seeks God author brings his spiritual journey to Rothko Chapel — and Indikafor cocktails
The Rothko Chapel launched its Mindful Living Series Sunday afternoon with author Eric Weiner,Man Seeks God: My Flirtations with the Divine, who engaged a full house with the story of his life-changing spiritual journey.
In an unusual twist on this sort of fundraiser, following Weiner's presentation, the event continued at Indika for "Cocktails & Curry," the second tier of the event.
Among the 80 participants was a culturally savvy crowd including photographer David Brown, painter Gabriela Trzebinski, weaver Mary Welch, author Robin McCorquodale, art historian Rex Koontz, architectural historian Stephen Fox and architects Fernando Brave, Ernesto Maldonado and Zina Sharif.
Rothko board members making the scene included Christopher Rothko (Mark Rothko's son), board members Carol Mancusi-Ungaro, Martha Claire Tompkins, Gayle DeGeurin, Dolly Brenneman and Wil McCorquodale and Rothko honorary directors Sissy Farenthold and Willy Kuehn.
