Kids with cancer, their caregivers and docs rule the runway in back-to-school fashion show
What: M.D. Anderson Back-to-School fashion show.
Where: The lower level of the Galleria, Nordstrom wing.
The 411:M.D. Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital teamed up with The Galleria for the annual fashion event that featured pediatric cancer patients on the catwalk as well as M.D. Anderson physicians, caregivers, supporters’ children and Page Parkes models. They sported the fall season's looks from Macy's, TopShop, Crazy 8, Brooks Brothers and more.
In addition to romping with face painters and balloon artists, guests were able to sign the "Strike Through Cancer" wall and help make cancer history through donations. KHOU Channel 11's Mia Gradney handled duties as emcee while the Galleria's director of marketing Andrew Huang served as official host.
Who: M.D. Anderson notables in the mix included hospital representatives Janet McCloskey, Katrina Burton and Tanya Ellenberg; School Program principal Daniel Smith; director of clinical services Dr. Julie Segovia; and Child Life Specialist Morinsola Keshinro.
