The thinking was pink for the pool party at Hotel ZaZa
It was a feast for the senses at Hotel ZaZa when revelers turned out several hundred strong to "Party in Pink."
Let's start with sight — the gals were in pink, guys wore pink, the lighting was pink. Beach balls in pink and white bounced around the perimeter of the hotel's Urban Oasis. Rosey pink pillows decorated the chaise lounges. OK, so it was a theme that went wild on pink.
And the inspiration for all that color coordination? The Susan G. Komen For The Cure foundation, which was beneficiary of the rockin' pool party.
For the remainder of the senses: Guests grooved to the sounds of DJ Derek Jones, dined on light bites from the hotel's Monarch Restaurant, swooned over fragrant Sprinkles cupcakes and sipped bubbly from Veuve Cliquot. Tootsies' Mickey Rosmarin and Shelley Ludwick were on hand to oversee the poolside fashion show (touch those rich fabrics) that included splashes of pink as well.
Hosting this mid-summer band of merry-makers were ZaZa Houston GM Matthew Nuss and marketing/communications director Lauren Manford. They welcomed the philanthropic and civically-active bunch that included Beth Zdeblick, Jennifer Sims, Carrie Carson and Chris McCauley, Heather Pray, Mary and Scott Nichols and Liz Gorman.
Amid the hot summer crowd were Sharron Melton and Casey Curry of ABC Channel 13, Andrew Sarofim, Betsy and Tod Eason, Brian Thorp, James Sivco, Tiffany Halik, Rachel Pack, Mahek Shah and NBC Channel 2's Hasti Taghi.
