The MLS All-Star Game packed 71,000 fans into Reliant Stadium, but only 1,000 soccer VIPs had a ticket to the night's second-hottest event — the All-Star after-party at House of Blues hosted by the Houston Dynamo All-Star Brian Ching.
At the re-dubbed "House of Ching" the vibe was something like one of HOB's famous gospel brunches gone late night, with Cajun-inspired comfort foods, crowds packing the bars and the disco-soul sounds of Doppelganger Band moving people to the dance floor.
The crowd was a mix of PYTs in tiny dresses, soccer superfans sporting jerseys, famous footballers including Landon Donovan, Brad Davis, Ching, MLS commissioner Don Garber, MLS president Mark Abbott, D.C. United owner Will Chang and Chivas USA owner Antonio Cue, plus local personalities like Miya Shay, Texans tight end Owen Daniels, Sarah Tucker and Jorge Vargas.
