Toga time: Young Professionals revive Animal House at rockin' party
What: Bering Omega Community Services Young Professionals' "Animal House Toga Party."
Where: Audi Central Houston.
The 411: The Bering Omega Community Services Young Professionals board hosted the blowout that took place amid the gleaming autos on display in the swank inner-Loop 610 showroom. Event chairs Jeremy Fain, Heather Yanak, Justin Concepcion, Maneesh Singal and Lindsey Moreno dressed the part, donning sheets, robes and laurel wreaths in honor of the whacky theme. Most among the 250 young professionals on hand stepped out in similar Animal House-inspired toga togs.
Highlight of the night was presentation of the Nick Day Award, named in honor of the much-admired Houston Symphony publicist who passed away earlier this month. The first annual young professional award went to Sara Brown, who started withBering Omega as a Jesuit volunteer right out of college and ultimately went to work for the non-profit in community development. She played an integral role in creating the Young Professionals board. Today, she works for the Coalition for the Homeless and has dedicated her career to non-profit service.
Who: The party crowd included Nick Espinosa, Liz Gorman, Paul Pettie, Mitchell Greco, Jeff Gremillion, Holly Reich, Travis Player, Lisa Izzo, Jennifer and Steve McGrath, Omar Pena, Tony Gibson, J.D. Adamson and Brandon Weinbrenner.
