The scoop: More than 70 Houstonians came out to toast Sunday Funday at restaurant rock star Benjamin Berg’s new hot spot — B.B. Lemon’s new location in Montrose — for a festive and colorful Beach Bash & Drag Brunch benefiting The Montrose Center.
Guests enjoyed build-your-own mimosa and Bloody Mary bars and snacked on hors d'oeuvres — all miniature versions of the B.B. Lemon brunch menu items by executive chef Emily Trusler. These included savory waffle bites with pulled pork, pancakes, pigs in a blanket, a watermelon salad, and custard beignets.
Partiers mingled and danced to tunes by DJ Ramalama while enjoying fabulous entertainment by a trio of drag queens: Blackberri, Barbara Coa, and Porter Bella Graves. All the proceeds from the $75 tickets will support The Montrose Center in its mission to empower LGBTQ individuals and their families to enjoy healthier and more fulfilling lives.
