Hot Undies Run Sizzles
Hot Undies Run shakes up Rice Village, turns running in bras, panties and briefs into a fun, sexy statement
Participants checked their inhibitions and their clothes at the door of the Gorgeous Gael Pub in Rice Village on Saturday for the fifth annual Hot Undies Run, a truly wacky fundraiser for Undies for Everyone and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
As many as 700 runners tackling the friendly two mile pub run dressed in outrageous interpretations of skivvies, panties and bras while raising funds to buy underwear for economically disadvantaged students in Houston or for MDA, the runners selecting the charity of their choice as they signed in for the event. Beyond strutting the streets for charity, the half-dressed throng participated in a costume contest and rallied during the afternoon celebration.

In a prepared statement, Dave Lee, founder of FFP Running Clubs said, “Each year, the Hot Undies Run is a great event to promote fitness, fun and philanthropy—the heart of our organization. We are proud to organize this run to support two of our favorite charities and see it as a way for Houstonians to lightheartedly unite around two very serious causes.”
Undies for Everyone, founded in 2008 by Rabbi Amy Weiss, works with elementary and middle schools to provide low-income students with underwear, a very real need that is seldom on the radar of economically blessed individuals. Since its founding, more than 75,000 pairs of underwear have been donated.
