Habsburg riches dazzle Museum of Fine Arts patrons at sparkling exhibit preview and grand dinner
What: Inauguration of the exhibition Habsburg Splendor: Masterpieces from Vienna’s Imperial Collections.
Where: The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's Cullinan Hall.
The 411: Close to 170 guests toured the riches from Vienna's Kunsthistorisches Museum, on display in the Upper Brown Pavilion to Sept. 13, before moving downstairs to the seated dinner. City Kitchen made a nod to Austrian tradition by concluding the three-course meal with the traditional Sachertorte, served with apricot coulis.
Special guests on this night were Kunsthistorisches director Sabine Haag and Austrian Princess Maria-Anna Galitzine, of the Habsburg blood line, who happens to call Houston home.
