Count Diane Lokey Farb, Cynthia Petrello and Lynn Wyatt in the heady crowd that made the New York scene Wednesday night for the SoHo launch of Karl Lagerfeld's photo exhibition The Little Black Jacket. La Wyatt was the envy of tout le monde in the house as she entered the party fray on the arm of the Chanel designer.

An avid photographer, Lagerfeld has assembled more than 100 black and white studio photos of his celeb friends, each wearing a black jacket, in collaboration with French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld. The exhibition remains on view in NY for a week and the works will be published as a coffee table tome of the same name in the fall.

Head-turners attending this star-studed affair included Roitfeld, Anna Wintour, Russell Simmons, Linda Evangelista, Alexander Wang, Heather Graham, Olivier Theyskens and Derek Blasberg. Several dozen in the fashion flock, including Lokey Farb and Petrello, were guests of Chanel and were whisked off to a swank Chanel dinner after.

    Goodbye, bachelor Kalon?

Just when we were looking for Kalon McMahon to return from the sidelines of The Bachelorette, the tom toms are beating that he just might get booted on Monday night.

If true, we are going to be soooooo disppointed. We were hoping for Kalon to evolve as Houston's male version of Erica Rose, enjoying something similar to her success on The Bachelor. We'll just have to tune in Monday night to confirm.

A swinging time at the Strip House

Although his birthday was over Memorial Day weekend, PR whiz Mark Sullivan and friends celebrated in style Thursday night at the Strip House, where party hosts Jason Reeves, Ashley Wehrly and Katy Mayell welcomed more than 20 celebrants.

The party crowd sipped Votre Sante Chardonnay and budini Malbec while sampling the Strip House's signature mac & cheese fritters, New York strip crostinis, tuna tartar and mini Strip House sliders. Restaurant GM Marisa Starling surprised the birthday boy with a huge slice of the Strip House's famous 24-layer chocolate cake.

Sharing best wishes were Janet Gurwitch, KC Gifford, Ceron, Julie Soefer, Roz Pactor, Candice and Lonnie Schiller, Renae Abbott and Greg Manteris, James Sivco, Jeff Gremillion, Sarah Tucker, Greg Morago, Claudia Sollis and CultureMap crew Sarah Rufca, Carey Kirkpatrick and Marcy de Luna.

    An artful gathering

Cindi and Dr. Franklin Rose are seldom at rest, regularly stepping out and stepping up to the plate for various charitable causes. Earlier this week, they opened the doors to their "Casa de la Rosa" on behalf of City Artworks, the after-school program that provides art classes for 3,000 Houston area school children.

Cindi has served as honorary chair of and moving force behind the non-profit's annual fall "Art of Conversation" luncheon and she reprises that role again on Oct. 29 at the Junior League. The Monday night gathering served as a launch for that fundraiser that will be chaired by Mady Kades and Catherine Anspon, both in the party mix.

As many as 85 supporters gathered in the Rose home where they sampled Marianne Fanning's dessert and entree crepes, prepared by two dashing chefs, and applauded young singing talent Cameron Dasher, sister of Erica Dasher, star of ABC Family's Jane by Design. (Cindi Rose whipped up a few of her culinary specialties as well.)

Supporters included Barbara Davis, Beth Wolfe, Beverly Barrett, Patsy Andrews, Bill Stubbs, Deborah Colton, Carolyn St. Clair, Ben Harwood Rose, Suzy Kornblit and Keelan Wachman.

    Steve Tyrell on the road

The schedule for Houston-born music man Steve Tyrell is shaping up for a busy summer starting with his concert at The Grove in Los Angeles Friday night. He heads cross-country to Boston for special guest appearances with the Boston Pops in the Visions of America Concerts, June 14-16.

Then, it's on to Beverly, Mass., for a performance at the North Shore Music Theater on July 1 and at the West Hampton Performing Arts Center in West Hampton Beach, N.Y., for July 7.

    Sight 'ems

In the mix were Saks GM Terry Zmyslo, Karen and Byron Hood, Joe Nelson and Jerry Reimondo, Christian Escudié, Mark Williams, Patrick Chatel, Daphne Mikel and Felicia Jackson.

Big hats met big-hearted giving at The Revaire as Crime Stoppers of Houston hosted its Second Annual “Raise ’Em Up for Texas” Gala, presented by Glenda and Russell Gordy and the C. James and Carole Walter Looke Family Fund

The evening unfolded like a Texas-sized toast guided by gala chairs Brooke Lee, Dana Barton, and Kristen Collins, and lifted further by strategic chairs Vanessa Ames and Jordan Seff.

More than 460 guests filled the sprawling venue, welcomed first by a festive happy hour and a bustling silent auction. Master of ceremonies Johnny Bravo kicked things into gear as guests settled in, followed by remarks from Crime Stoppers CEO Rania Mankarious, who championed the crowd’s shared commitment to keeping Houston safe.

Speaker Maurine Molak, co-founder of the David’s Legacy Foundation shared the story of her son, whose life was cut short at 16 after enduring relentless cyberbullying. She illuminated the gap in resources available to families at the time and the sweeping efforts that eventually led to David’s Law. Her partnership with Crime Stoppers through The John M. O’Quinn Foundation Million for Million campaign has already reached more than two million students, continuing David’s legacy by empowering young Texans to seek safety, support, and hope.

A surprise presentation of the Second McIngvale Family Humanitarian Award honored Chris Shepherd and Lindsey Brown of Southern Smoke Foundation for their community-wide compassion. Accepting on their behalf was Catarina Bill.

Then came a major announcement: The creation of a new Crime Stoppers Women’s Collective, a group of 50 women stepping into a leadership role for 2026, along with an ambitious push to educate 10 million Texas students and the launch of SafeSpace Student Hub, a digital platform designed to give students a confidential place to seek guidance.

Nobody’s Fool closed out the night with plenty of two-stepping as supporters lingered, celebrating a mission-driven evening that raised a record-breaking $2 million.

Showing up in full Texas spirit were Brigitte Kalai, Alicia Smith, Hallie Vanderhider, Sippy and Ajay Khurana, Tom Ramsey, Noe Diaz, Ben Katrib, Twila Carter, Willie Davis, Fred Flickinger, Mary Nan Huffman, Julian Ramirez, Alan Rosen, Terry Allbritton, Emily DeToto, Lori DeAngelo, Peyton Peebles, Aaron Burdette, Lance Long, Dan Simons, Carolyn Dozier, Ken Wise, Tiffany Herd, Eric and Lisa Elder, Alex and Tammy Janos, Kari Lynd, Natalie and Steve Mohtashami, Kyle and Erin Cummings, Snehal Amin and Adrienne Amin, Jessica Leeke, Carla and Tony Maarraoui, Karen and Lohn Zylicz, Frank and Jill Stagg, Robert and Dana Clay, Catherine and Peter Badger, Pam Connealy, Mayes and Macy Middleton, Megan and Walker Weston, Meredith and Ben Marshall, Seth and Hannah Siegel-Gardner, Anna Reger, Sheri Zucker, Trini Mendenhall, Phillip Royalty, Jeff Nadalo, Farida Abjani, Maria Moncada Alaoui and Omar Alaoui, Susan Boggio, Deborah Duncan, and Laura Ward.
