Legacy Community Health Services celebrates a year of good fortune; $15 milliongoal in sight
It was a happy time in the couture salon of Neiman Marcus on Sunday night when Legacy Community Health Services celebrated three decades of providing healthcare for those in need and celebrated a year of fab fundraising.
Legacy's capital campaign surpassed $12 million in 2010 towards its $15 million goal and all looks green for the coming year of fundraising as well. Spreading the exciting news were Legacy executive director Katy Caldwell and development director Chree Boydston.
Highlight of the program was the unveiling of the Jerry D. Bartee Assistance Fund Suite that will be in the new Legacy building at 1415 California. Long-time Legacy supporters will remember the late Jerry Bartee, party-planner extraordinarie and beloved bon vivant, who was an ardent supporter of the Assisstance Fund, which merged into Legacy into 2005.
In fact, this annual event began as a fundraiser for the Assistance Fund and included presentation of the Jerry Bartee Humanitarian Award. Over the years, Bartee raised more than $1 million for the Assistance Fund/Legacy. Each year since its inception, Neiman Marcus and Bob Devlin have hosted this fundraiser, which previously had been a seated dinner.
Julia Frankel chaired the Sunday evening cocktail party where Jackson & Co. provided the light bites and Kristin Mills and Bryan Anthony provided the singing talent.
Joining in the celebration were Carrin Patman, Mary Ann and David McKeithan, Judith Oudt, Claire Cormier Thielke, Frank Campisi, Barbara and Ulyesse LeGrange, Joann and Bill Crassas, Bob Jones, Tripp Carter, Melanie Gray and Mark Wawro.
