Houston foodie heaven: Five top chefs whip up a five-course meal that's worth $250,000
What: The Houston Food Bank annual Chef's Dinner.

The 411:ChefsMark Cox, Neal Cox, Robert Del Grande, Jeff Axline and Catherine Rodriguez took over the kitchen to prepare a yummy five-course meal for 300 guests. That cordial breaking of the bread raised $250,000 for the Food Bank's efforts at reducing hunger in the area. Party favors even had a Food Bank theme — taste buds were tempted by the apple-shaped cookies (a salute to the Food Bank's signature apple logo) from Dessert Gallery Bakery & Cafe. The fundraiser was chaired by Patricia Reckling Taylor and Annette Dewalch Strake.
