Kool & the Gang trigger a wild disco party in Houston with local TV news host in on the action
What: Children at Risk "Standing Up for Our Youth" gala.

The 411: The non-profit's eighth annual gala drew a ready-to-rock crowd of more than 550, most of whom showed up in some combination of disco threads, wigs and go-go boots. Particularly fetching in their '80s attire were chairs Donae Cangelosi Chramosta, Lucinda Loya and Stephanie Perkins. Kool and the Gang entertained with all their familiar favorites including what could have been the theme song of the night "Celebrate." The event raised $415,000.
Guests supped across food stations from Cordua Catering and bid in the live auction for which Eric Andell served as auctioneer. KHOU Channel 11 morning show host Deborah Duncan served as emcee.
