Lynn and Oscar Wyatt open up their home to salute top doctor, new MemorialHermann center
The charming Dr. Atilla Ertan was the toast of the evening at the home of Lynn and Oscar Wyatt where he was saluted as professor of medicine and medical director of the newly-established Gastroenterology Center for Excellence at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
Raising their glasses (be it champagne or Perrier) in toasts to Ertan was an impressive coterie of business and community leaders, including those from his native Turkey and neighboring countries, particularly Iran.
Internationally-renowned in the field of gastroenterology, Ertan spoke formally about the new 22,000 square-foot Gastroenterology Center of Excellence in the Memorial Herman Medical Plaza, set to open in June. He subtly passed the hat for the center and for the Atilla Research Education Fund which will focus on clinical research and postgraduate education in the field of digestive diseases.
The Wyatts welcomed guests to the cocktail reception including Turkish Consul General Cemalletin Aydin and his wife, Burcu, Inci Ertan, Anne and Albert Chao, Melinda and Dr. Norman Berkman, Vahid Kooros, Roya and Massoud Taghdisi, Anooshea and Alan Taghdisi, Sheridan Williams, Sherry and Ardeshir Tajvari and Joanne and Ali Taghdisi.
Joining in the celebration were Memorial Hermann and UTHealth leaders including Memorial Hermann Hospital System COO Chuck Stokes, Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center CEO Craig Cordola and Memorial Hermann Foundation CEO Ileana Trevino.
