Let the Parties Begin
With 18 candidates, get ready for a zillion fun parties in Man & Woman of the Year battle
Put on your party clothes Houston! The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man & Woman of the Year Campaign has launched and the partying won't stop until the big reveal at River Oaks Country Club on June 3.
The competitors were introduced during a cocktail reception at the Briar Club in the first of 10 weeks of events in which the seven men and 11 women test their fundraising skills on behalf of the non-profit. The man and woman who raise the most money will earn the coveted titles.
Stephanie and Scott Sanders are chairing the campaign which has raised more than $3 million in the five years that the Texas Gulf Coast chapter has been participating in the nationwide fundraiser. Fox 26 news anchor Melinda Spalding served as evening emcee and announced the contestants.
Women competing are Lexie Boudreaux of Corporate Suites, community volunteer Katie Daily, Vikki Evans of Martha Turner Sotheby's International Realty, Lauren Haller Fontaine of HESS Corp., Helen Harris of Cactus Wellhead, Danielle Johnston of Texas Children's Hospital, Ashlee Lang of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Kelly Lindsay of Cherry Creek Mortgage, Magen Pastor of J.W. Marriott Houston Downtown, Summer Sanford of Nerium International and Alyssa Schaffer of Weycer Law Firm.
The gents setting their sights to top earnings are Paul Barnhart III of Sage Road Capital, Reed Barrett of Expert Systems, Christopher Cardenas of Lehigh Hanson Inc., Adam Greer of Align Strategic Partners, Jeff James of Signet Interactive, Kevin Murray of Kevin Murray LLC and Simon Tipper-McWhorter of Hewlett Packard.
