Celebrity photographer shares his Jerry Seinfeld and Julia Roberts stories: Doing good through pictures

The 411: HSPVA's 2015 Distinguished Alumnus photographer Mark Seliger held the ballroom of the more than 370 guests intrigued as he shared tidbits from his photo shoots. He spoke on his experiences with rock stars Keith Richards, David Bowie and Kurt Cobain; comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Will Ferrell; and film stars Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks and John Malkovich.
He also shared the story of his work with the Three Brothers Bakery family for a book on the Holocaust and his fun at the Academy Awards shooting Instagram photos for the Vanity Fair Oscar party.
HSPVA students jump-started the luncheon with their rendition of “We Built This City/We’re Not Gonna Take It” mashup from Rock of Ages.
Luncheon chairs Gina Fish and George Lancaster were over the moon when the bidding on a portrait photo session with Seliger went for $25,000.
