Big-name singer signs on for the Alley's Supper Club, Texans stars bring their kids to a hotspot & a political power player parties
Talk about fulfilling a gala theme — how about signing on songbird Linda Eder to headline the Alley Theatre's "Supper Club" benefit evening. Kudos to chairs Carol and Mike Linn for adding just the right entertainment touch to their fundraising effort.
Considering Eder's long-standing relationship with the Alley and the mutual affection between the star and Houston, her selection was choice.
Forget your typical gala as the Linns purposely opted to create something different. Therefore the unusual venue (see below) and the supper club theme. Instead of dancing after dinner, guests will be entertained by Eder.
Look for a transformation of the lobby of the historic JPMorgan Chase Bank Building on May 4, when The Events Co. moves in to create a swank supper club environment. Mike Linn says, no tuxes. He wants the gents to be comfortable in dinner jackets or dark suits. Think cocktail attire. We're actually thinking slinky Rainbow Room satins. Another one for Jason Fuller
Taking a professional breather after serving as Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison's regional director for 18 years, Jason Fuller enjoyed a much-deserved birthday celebration hosted by his BFF Cindy Clifford in her new Montrose craftsman style home.
Close to 70 pals, including many political powerhouses, turned out to wish him well. Among them were City Councilmen Jack Christie and Steve Costello with wife Debbie, State Rep. Gene Wu and KTRK's Miya Shay, Marty and Bob Stein, KPRC's Mary Benton, Judge Zinetta Burney, the Mayor's senior staffer Jenn Char, Port chairman Janiece Longoria, Jason's twin brother Jeff Fuller and wife Kristyn and party co-host photographer David Bray, Clifford's husband.
Sight 'ems
Houston Texans wide receiver Kevin Walter and inside linebacker Brian Cushing dining at hotspot Katsuya with their wives and children. They ordered their usual Vitamin A cocktails (Corzo Silver tequila, hand-pressed lime and açai berry juice), baked crab handrolls and yellowtail sashimi while the kiddos noshed on special wonton chips prepared by Katsuya chef Jennifer Hill.
