Not just for hot femmes anymore: Young professional cowboys help their ladies bring Victory to cancer fight
For the longest time, Victory, the all-volunteer fundraising arm of the American Cancer Society, was strictly a femmes effort producing the highly-successful Cattle Baron's Ball. But some years ago, they added the guys in their Stetsons to the effort by forming the Victory Gentlemen's Committee.
That group blew it out at Goode's Armadillo Palace when members of Victory and their husbands and young professionals and their dates sipped 'ritas, downed the famous Goode Company barbecue and two-stepped to the sounds of the Mitch Jacobs Band. In the process, the western-attired throng raised $33,000 for pancreatic cancer research.
The party was chaired by Allie Fields, Jackie Eubank and Molly Johnson with assistance from Victory chair Elizabeth Stein. In the lively mix were 2014 Cattle Baron's Ball chairs Carol Beck and Debbie Chenevert, who were telling friends that Travis Tritt will be the headliner at the April 26 ball at the George Ranch.
Kicking up their Luccheses and Old Gringos were Jay Fields, Meredith Riddle Chastang and Patrick Chastang, Luvi and Carlos Wheelock, Alan Stein, Monica and Curtis Bickers, Patti and Don Murphy, Kristin and Jason Kaminisky, Lisa and Josh Oren, Patti and Don Murphy, Monty Eubank, Maryam Afshari and Jared Lang.
