Favorite Austin-based taqueria cooks up statewide salsa partnership with H-E-B
An Austin-based taqueria has partnered with H-E-B to expand its retail presence. Tacodeli dips and salsas can now be found at 290 stores statewide.
Introduced this week, consumers will find 12-ounce containers of four of the restaurant’s most popular options: Salsa Verde, Salsa Roja, Black Bean Dip, and Queso. In addition, Tacodeli developed a Chunky Salsa as a retail exclusive that’s intended to be eaten with tortilla chips. The freshly-made, refrigerated products can be found in the Deli section near H-E-B’s Meal Simple line of entrees, sides, and more.

The new partnership expands Tacodeli’s retail offerings that have been available at Whole Foods Market since 2017. Ultimately, the restaurant intends to become a nationally-known brand, according to a release.
“We’ve been committed to serving high-quality food ever since our first location opened in 1999,” Jeff Day, president of Tacodeli’s retail operations, said in a statement. “We are excited for H-E-B shoppers to discover what has made Tacodeli a fan favorite for so many years.”
Founded in 1999 by Robert Espinosa, Tacodeli has expanded to 11 locations in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and Plano. The restaurant serves almost 40 different meat, seafood, and vegetable tacos that are dressed with different salsas which are made fresh daily.
Tacodeli will open its second Houston-area location later this year at Post Oak Plaza, the Galleria-area shopping center that’s also home to Nando’s Peri-Peri, Kenny & Ziggy’s, il Bracco, and others.
