Just in time for World Cup 2026
Houston Dynamo star Brian Ching scores Katy outpost of his smash hit soccer bar
Houston Dynamo legend Brian Ching is brining his signature soccer bar to Katy. Pitch 25 will open a second location in spring 2025 at 22838 Grand Circle Blvd.
Open since 2018, Ching partnered with The Kirby Group owners Andy Aweida and Jeff Barati to create the original Pitch 25 in EaDo near the Dynamo’s Shell Energy Stadium. It takes the Kirby Group’s popular beer garden format that’s powered bars like Heights Bier Garten and Holman Draft Hall and adds a sporting component that includes an indoor soccer pitch, a stage for live music, and plenty of TVs for watching sports. That combination has made it an ideal destination for pre and post-game gatherings for both Dynamo and Astros fans as well as one of Houston’s favorite places to watch major soccer matches.
With the World Cup coming to Houston in 2026, Ching, Aweida, and Barati saw an opportunity to expand Pitch 25. They purchased an almost three-acre property near other entertainment businesses that are also affiliated with former professional athletes such as PopStroke (Tiger Woods), Home Run Dugout (Nolan and Reid Ryan), and Andretti's Indoor Karting & Game.
“We have been looking for over a year now and we’re thrilled to have purchased this perfect location,” Aweida writes in an email. “Being right off major roadways, Pitch 25 becomes a destination for not only Katy, but Sugar Land, Cypress, Richmond, Fulshear, and beyond. We do have plans in the works for at least one more in the city around Houston.”
At 25,000-square-feet, the Katy location will be similar in size to the original, but it also benefits from six years of lessons about what the bar’s patrons want from the venue. Amenities will include three fields that will host soccer matches as well as events like Bubble Soccer and axe throwing.
“We are so fortunate to entertain such fun, energetic, and large crowds for game days, field activities, events and watch parties, that we adjusted a few areas such as crowd flow, kitchen design, satellite bars, restrooms, parking, and overall efficiencies to enhance the customer experience,” Aweida adds.
Pitch 25’s food and drink options will remain the same at both locations. Expect an extensive selection of craft beer and cocktails along with creative bar food (burgers, wings, tacos, etc.).
“We have close to three acres, so rest assured we plan on including all the fan favorites, along with ample parking and, of course, a few new additions and surprises,” Aweida writes.
