She's a Brick
LEGO burgers are coming to Houston, and we have questions: Namely, how will they stack up?
Peanut butter and jelly; peaches and cream; Texas barbecue and Shiner beer — some things were just made to go together. A new concept coming to Houston, however, is testing the limits of dream combinations: Brick Burger is bringing LEGO burgers to the Lone Star State and based on the pictures alone ... we are skeptical. Frankly, we did not ask for this.
According to a press release, the popup will take place December 9-10 and promises to be "a groundbreaking and innovative experience ... for anyone looking for a playful and delicious dining adventure." The concept hopes to attract families and burger enthusiasts alike.
The release mentions a menu of burgers made from fresh and high-quality ingredients — seemingly dyed with primary colors and shaped into brick form to resemble the classic building blocks. It's priced at $47 per person, which comes with a burger and choice of soft drink, beer, or wine. Tickets are on sale now.
For design, the "brick-themed restaurant," will apparently feel like dining in one of your own childhood creations, featuring colorful brick walls, LEGO-themed furniture, and a brick building station in case playing with your LEGO food loses its appeal.
And while our personal childhood experience focused less on architectural prowess and more on creating elaborate narratives (with original scores) for our LEGO characters, competitive diners can join a weekly brick-building contest to receive prizes.
All in all, the whole experience certainly promises to be ... unique.
In the meantime, if you're looking for a less adventurous but equally delicious take on the American classic (and will permit a shameless plug), check out our 2023 Tastemaker nominees for Best Burger. What they lack in odd shapes and unusual colors they make up for by being available today.
