Trendy seafood restaurant ventures outside the Loop into a Treehouse
Looks like 2015 is shaping up to be a very busy year for local restaurant group F.E.E.D. TX. The company will add a third Liberty Kitchen to its stable in late 2015 at The Treehouse, MetroNational's office building in Memorial City.
That's in addition to the company's recent takeover of operations at The El Cantina, plans to open Lee's Fried Chicken and Donuts in the former Church's Chicken on Heights Boulevard and a fourth location of Liberty Kitchen in Austin.
"We couldn’t be more excited to expand into Memorial City and to be a restaurant partner in a one-of-a-kind building," said owner Lee Ellis in a statement. "This is our first restaurant outside the loop and we are thrilled to better serve our customers in West Houston.”
As with the other Liberty Kitchens, Ellis and partner Carl Eaves will tackle design of the 5,600-square-foot space that also features an almost 1,100 square foot patio. Executive chef Lance Fegen and Ellis will develop both food and drink menus.
Memorial staple Jonathan's the Rub had originally intended to expand into the location, but those plans were abruptly canceled without explanation in September.
