The Cocktail Chronicles
This Houston bartender's old fashioned has a whiff of the exotic
As Houston bartender Akiko Hagio demonstrates in this episode of Old Forester's Cocktail Chronicles, you can surround Old Forester bourbon with lots of exotic flavors, but it still emerges as the star.
She combines such tropical-sounding ingredients as Okinawan black sugar and Aphrodite bitters (which contains cacao nib and ginger) with the bourbon to create an old fashioned that is instantly warming.
Follow her lead for a cocktail that's as adventurous as it is familiar.
