A new bar called The Fairview is opening up at 315, well, Fairview — in place of Dean's Credit Clothing, which closed. We've seen neither hide nor hair of Fairview's management (we're trying to get in touch) except for a lone Twitter account, which promises daily happy hours from 5 to 9 p.m., art openings, film screenings and 48 (did we read that right? or do they mean 48-inch) flat screen televisions.
In other bar happenings, it always bugged me (well, at least before the knife fights) that I couldn't get into Chuck E. Cheese without a 12-year-old accomplice. Luckily now I can fulfill my adult gaming (and imbibing) desires at Barcadia, a Dallas bar that will make its Houston debut next door to Bryan Caswell's Reef.
If the original is a probable template, the new offering in the former car dealership's back office should mean vintage arcade games, draft beer and, oddly enough, brunch.
