Rice Village gets even sweeter: New candy store to offer bacon soda & SnookiWild Cherry
For a person with a sweet tooth, there's no more dangerous part of town than Rice Village.
The shopping district boasts a half dozen ice cream or frozen yogurt vendors, a French-style creperie, two very different stores devoted entirely to chocolate, two cupcake places within walking distance and all the sweet goodness of Ruggles Cafe Bakery.
Rocket Fizz bottles its own brand of flavored cane sugar sodas, including "Snooki Wild Cherry Soda by Nicole Polizzi."
Soon it will also have two candy stores, as Rocket Fizz soda pop and candy shop is reportedly moving into the former Fruit Palette space on Rice Blvd. (The other is Candylicious, which is connected to The Chocolate Bar on University.)
Rocket Fizz bottles its own brand of flavored cane sugar sodas, including "Snooki Wild Cherry Soda by Nicole Polizzi," which is not the most random celebrity endorsement I've ever heard of but comes pretty close.
There's also Lester's Fixins sodas, which include bacon soda and buffalo wing soda, as well as Melba's Fixins sodas in flavors like cherries & cream and key lime pie.
The stores also have shelves upon shelves of candy, plus "retro and gag gifts," concert posters, movie posters and tin signs. No word yet on an opening date.
