You'll want to grab a seat on either of two patios, launching Friday, at River Oaks area’s Bosscat Kitchen + Libations. And what should you have in your hand? The special Cinco de Mayo Mexican-influenced whisky sour ($12) made with bourbon, ancho chile liqueur, fresh citrus, and frothy egg whites. Spicy-good flavors will give you reason to linger, and order seconds, especially since this drink is not only available at the bar all night, but also in free tastings (5-8 pm) provided by a global alcoholic beverages company in a traveling bar trailer parked out front.

DJ takeover
Join host Marco Torres, ace photographer and music enthusiast, for drink specials and DJ sets by artists including Gio Chamba, Gracie Chavez, and Felipe Galvan of the Los Skarnales band at downtown’s The Nightingale Room (5 pm-2 am).

Tacos and drinks
Eight Row Flint in the Heights is going big, opening its doors early at noon and offering a happy hour deal (12-6 pm) on tacos ($3), and a laundry list of drinks including Old Fashioned cocktails ($5) and house mules stirred with bourbon, peach vodka, clarified lime, passion fruit ($5). But that’s not all. The bar will also pour $5 frozen and on-the-rocks margaritas, $5 Palomas, and $3 Modelo Especial and Tecate beers all day long.

Patio bar party
Enjoy $8 margaritas, snaps in a photobooth, tropical dance tunes by Bombon (9 am-12 pm), and high-energy spins by a DJ (5-8 pm) at patio bar La Grange in Montrose.
