After 26 years at the corner of Buffalo Speedway and Bissonnet, Buffalo Grille has confirmed rumors it will be leaving its longtime location next spring, after its lease expires in March 2011.
Though Buffalo Grille spokesman John McAleer didn't confirm specifically why the popular brunch restaurant's lease wasn't renewed, the opening last year of the H-E-B Buffalo Market in the same shopping center has led to a severe parking shortage.
McAleer told the West U Examiner that he and his parents, who own the restaurant, are looking for another space in West University.
"Right now... pickings are very slim," McAleer said. "Any vacant space in the West U area, or the closest you can get to it, we're looking at it. We have a year left, and we're looking at that perfect location to find. We are trying to find something suitable for the Buffalo Grille and for our customers. We want to be almost exactly like it is now. It's just very difficult to find a place in West U that has ample space, ample parking, and character. But every single day we're on the phone and in the car, trying to find what's available."
