Torchy's Tacos Expands
Torchy's Tacos just can't get enough of Houston: Culty chain adds another new location
Having already opened three restaurants in the Houston area, Torchy's Tacos is ready for more.
The Austin-born taco chain with the cult-like following has signed a lease on a new 3,886 square-foot restaurant at LaCenterra in Cinco Ranch, a shopping center which includes more than 50 stores and restaurants.
With 10 locations in Austin and seven in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, it's not surprising that Torchy's wants to expand its empire in Houston. The company has locations in Montrose and Rice Village and, in September, opened a restaurant in the historic Harold's building in the Heights. The new location in Cinco Ranch is the company's first Houston area venture outside the 610 Loop.
“Our success in Houston-proper paired with the vision for LaCenterra made the decision for Katy a pretty easy one," Torchy's Tacos founder and vice president of culinary and marketing Michael Rypka said in a statement. "We couldn’t be more excited to join so many other great brands in Cinco Ranch.”
Scheduled to open in the summer, the new Torchy's will be located next to the West Lake of LaCenterra off the entrance of Commercial Center Blvd.
