It looks like Texans love wine and fried chicken. Max's Wine Dive, owned by Houston-based Lasco Enterprises, is planning its first location in Dallas.
Max's is taking over 4,200 square feet of the former Borders space at the corner of McKinney and Lemmon Avenue, in Dallas's bustling West Village shopping center.
"It's an awesome location and we are extremely excited to be there," Lasco chief brand officer Jonathan Horowitz says. According to Horowitz, the move to Big D has been in the works for three years.
The Dallas location, planned for a fall opening, is the fourth and largest Max's Wine Dive, following restaurants in Houston, San Antonio and Austin. But don't expect it to be the last: Horowitz says the company is exploring options for a Fort Worth Max's in 2013 and that the brand will move outside of Texas "in the not-too-distant future."
The expansion fever is hitting Lasco's The Tasting Room as well. Once planned as a Houston-only concept, a fourth location of the wine bar will open in Kingwood in March and the company is now eyeing Austin and San Antonio for opportunities.
