Inside a baseball star's $5 million mansion: A video tour answers the secret wonder
There are mansions and then there are show mansions.
Former Houston Astros pitcher Shane Reynolds definitely has the latter in Sugar Land. CultureMap real estate guru Joel Luks will take you — and KHOU Ch. 11 viewers — inside the Reynolds' mammoth country style home, which is on the market with a $4.95 million asking price.
The 8,500 square foot mansion is in a private, remote area of Sugar Land. It was built in 2007 by Robert Dame Architects and Reynolds' wife Pam handpicked many of the finishes.
Pam Reynolds seems to have a knack for antique shopping. She brought in pieces from New Orleans, Los Angeles and Paris. Pinewood floors and beautifully crafted stone fireplaces fill the rooms to give the mammoth house somewhat of a rustic look
Luks' favorite feature of the house is the marble bathtub that was found in a flea market in Paris. It was so heavy that it had to be put into the house with a crane.
The dream home — complete with its own baseball field — also includes a pool and a barn with three stalls. The entire complex stretches over six-plus acres of land.
