Things are about to look a lot brighter for the Marq*E Entertainment Center — literally.
The complex at the intersection of I-10 and Silber is getting a brand new paint job (with even bolder colors) to match its renovation. The entertainment center as long-planned to rearrange its storefronts and make the complex more viewer-friendly. Those first steps have finally been taken, demolishing around 50,000 square feet of the retail space that faced the freeway with a largely windowless wall.
The renovation will mean more parking space and less isolated interiors.
The owning company, Fidelis Realty Partners and Magic Johnson's Canyon-Johnson Urban Funds, says the center is at least 94 percent leased. Current tenants include Edwards Cinemas, Cafe Adobe, Dave & Busters, LA Fitness, New York Pizzeria, Panda Express, Quizno's, Red Robin, Silver Smith, Subway, T-Mobile, Todai, Wings N More and Drink Houston, Pump it Up and Improv comedy club, whose buildings were demolished and which all moved to other spots in the center.
