Holiday Home Tour
Boulevard beauties: Home tour opens doors to 1920s and 1930s classics
Five beautifully renovated houses from the 1920s and 1930s, all jeweled in seasonal decorations, are on view noon-4 p.m. Sunday for the third annual Southampton/Museum District Holiday Home Tour, this year themed “Cool Classics.”
Spotlight locations are 2241 Sunset Blvd., 2012 Sunset Blvd., 1740 South Blvd., 2027 Bolsover and 1902 Albans.
Volunteer docents are to be on hand at each residence, where visitors can purchase tour tickets at $25 per person and receive a map of the featured homes. The showcased houses are in easy walking distance from one another, and plenty of street parking is assured to be available.
Proceeds from the tour benefit The Friends of Southampton Esplanades for the renovation of five Sunset Boulevard esplanades that the organization adopted from the city of Houston for beautification. Three of the esplanades are now replanted with Asian Jasmine for an easy maintenance ground cover.
Sponsors of the tour include Area Home Furnishing, Barbara Davis Gallery, Greenwood King Properties, Thompson & Hanson, M. Naeve Antiques and Carol Piper Rugs. Others volunteering for the event are real estate agents from John Daugherty, Realtors and Martha Turner Properties.
