Billy Reid's RISE T-shirt aims to raise funds for tornado disaster relief
Alabama native Billy Reid is doing what he does best to help out in a crisis.
Reid, who won the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)/GQ award and the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award last year, has designed a T-shirt to raise funds to help communities devastated by recent tornados in his home state.
The limited-edition T-shirt, emblazoned with the word RISE, retails for $38 and is available at the Billy Reid store in the Galleria or online. It comes in men's and women's sizes.
Reid's design pays homage to the many small communities in northern Alabama that suffered the brunt of the destruction, with the hope that they will "rise" again.
All profits will go to the Red Cross Tornado Disaster Relief Fund.
It's not the first time that Reid has used his design skills to raise money for disaster relief Last year, he designed a "Tennessee Love" T-shirt, with proceeds going to help residents ravaged by floodwaters in and around the Nashville area.
