Doucette Duvall at Coquette, Neiman Marcus gets artsy and an SOS from DFS
- "Fashion Rules!" at Neiman Marcus
- Doucette Duval trunk show at Coquette
A Texas girl shows off her green side, Neiman Marcus plays by the rules and you have a chance to give some good this week. Yep, it’s that time of the year when party-hopping is the best way to get around and philanthropy is as close as your own closet.
Doucette Duvall at Coquette
Annebet Duvall, half of the Doucette Duvall duo, stops at Coquette Boutique and Bistro today for a day-long trunk show showing off the spring/summer 2010 Collection. She’s sticking around for the party that starts at 6 p.m. and who could blame her since there will be shopping, psychic readings, wine, champagne and light bites? Duvall and her design partner, Stephanie Doucette, launched the whimsical and decidedly feminine line in 2005 working with “rescued material” (already produced). Each collection features a "Little Green Dress" to continue their dedication to their ideals. The women pay homage to the red, white and blue too, manufacturing the entire collection in New York City's historic garment district as well as using pre-existing fabric and trim, shunning extraneous garment bags and hang tags and shipping in recycled boxes only.
"Fashion Rules" at Neiman Marcus
If you needed an excuse to go to The Galleria, the Fashion Rules event at Neiman Marcus Thursday is just the thing. It’s a night of art and fashion — aren’t they really the same thing anyway? — with the Lafayette 148 spring 2010 fashion presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Level III, an Art of Fashion show at 7:15 on Level I, and an art walk provided by Houston artists, plus cocktails and light bites. The event is open to the public, but mind your manners and RSVP to 713-621-7100 x 2296 or rsvphouston@neimanmarcus.com.
Dress for Success Send One Suit Week
In addition to ways to shop, there are also ways to give. This is Dress for Success’ Send One Suit week, which means we all get an opportunity to go through our closets and pull out a suit we don’t wear anymore. DFS takes the suits and gives them to disadvantaged women who are looking for a fresh start. In addition to a professional wardrobe and beautiful pearl necklace, women receive career development tools and job support. If you can’t donate a suit, DFS accepts financial donations too. Just $75 buys a perfectly polished suit. The drive ends Sunday. Suits can be donated at Dress for Success Houston offices or at MW Cleaners locations.
