Neil Patrick Harris wears a piece of Houston on his chest at Oscars: And Galveston has a shiny moment too
Among the star-studded glitz and glam, some local Texan designers were featured on the red carpet at Sunday night's Academy Awards.
Host Neil Patrick Harris may have left little to the imagination on stage, but on the red carpet, Harris and husband David Burtka looked dapper in their Hamilton tuxedo shirts.
Ford’s Lightning Ridge Collection was seen on multiple Oscars attendees.
The pair wore custom shirts designed by the oldest family run business in Houston, which was recently featured by Cotton Inc.’s Fabric of Our Lives series. The couple did not disappoint; Burtka paired his Hamilton shirt with a Calvin Klein tuxedo, while Harris donned a gray cashmere tux by Brunello Cucinelli.
Hamilton Shirts weren’t the only Texan labels at the Oscars as Galveston-based jewelry designer John Ford also enjoyed a starring role on the red carpet.
Ford’s award-winning Lightning Ridge Collection was seen on multiple Oscars attendees including Access Hollywood correspondent Shaun Robinson. More celebrities wearing the collection included Boyhood star Libby Villari, The 100’s Adina Porter, Marisol Nichols of NCIS and Kate Flannery of The Office.
Ford’s Oscars takeover comes after the designer’s recognition by The American Gem Trade Association and the Platinum Guild International.
