Houston's New Reality Star
Move over Erica Rose: Another reality TV star emerges from the family — thanks to a crime of passion
Noted Houston plastic surgeon, Dr. Franklin Rose, is making his way to the small screen with a special appearance on the new TNT series Marshal Law: Texas.
Produced by Hollywood powerhouse Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, Armageddon, CSI), the unscripted reality drama follows a Houston-based team of U.S. Marshals as they track down some of the nation's most hardened and notorious criminals. Through a blend of interviews, on-site footage and recreations, the show reveals the complex and often grim realities of bringing fugitives to court.
On the Dec. 17th episode, Rose — an expert in facial reconstruction and the father of reality star/lawyer Erica Rose — provides on-screen commentary for a local case involving an acid attack.
"It's a crime of passion."
"It's a crime of passion," Rose tells CultureMap. "The victim has hydrochloric acid thrown in her face. It's a horrible act and the other woman who did it, a family member, was never indicted."
Rose says he's been asked to discuss the circumstances surrounding the victim's emergency operation, shedding light on different techniques used to treat scarring as well as possible respiratory and auditory issues.
"While the whole concept of cosmetic surgery is very captivating to the public, there's so much more to the field," Rose says, noting that the episode will present aspects of plastic surgery not often seen on television.
You can catch Rose on Marshal Law: Texas next Tuesday at 9 p.m. on TNT.
