Want to hear something that'll make you want to off yourself? Kim Kardashian pulled in $6 million this year setting up accessible paparazzi photo ops, inventing rumors about her life, and selling the privilege of hearing her deny them.

A ranking of the top 10 highest-earning reality stars by the Daily Beast has Kim at the No. 1 spot. The rankings-happy website cites endorsement deals and appearance fees as the best way to capitalize on reality show fame, and gives kudos to Kim for her more legitimate ventures. (No, not Quick Trim. Her perfume and swimsuit lines, because not everybody can have those.)

Daily Beast also notes the spotlight reality stars are now being given in the tabloids — even the semi-respectable ones. People's highest-selling issue last year featured the ever-multiplying Duggar family, although Wills and Kate's engagement cover may have now trumped it.

Rounding out the top 10 from highest to lowest earning are The Hills' Lauren Conrad, who isn't even currently on TV; The Real Housewives' Bethenny Frankel, whose spin-off show's ratings trumped the ones that made her famous AND is behind my beloved Skinnygirl margarita mix; The Hills and DWTS's Audrina Patridge; TLC's monstrous mommy, Kate Gosselin; Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino; Kim's sister and Mrs. Lamar Odom Kloe Kardashian; Kourtney Kardashian; Jersey Shore castmate and BFF to The Situation, DJ Pauly D and former playmate Kendra Wilkinson.
