Why not extend the darkness of Black Friday on to next Monday? On Nov. 29, Sarah Palin will be signing her latest tome, America by Heart, at 11 a.m. at the Borders bookstore at the corner of Kirby and West Alabama and you'd better get there early if you want in.
The Alaskan maverick and Fox News contributor is sure to make a splash at the River Oaks big box store. The event is heavily "meta" — explains the Borders event listing:
In the fall of 2009, with the publication of her #1 national bestselling memoir, Sarah Palin had the privilege of meeting thousands of everyday Americans on her extraordinary 35-city book tour. Inspired by these encounters, her new book, America by Heart, celebrates the values that have made this country what it is today.
In the book, which will be released by HarperCollins on Tuesday — the same day that Palin's daughter Bristol will try to dance her way to a Dancing with the Starswin— Mama Palin accuses Obama of depressed patriotism, a misaligned healthcare bill and hints at a 2012 presidential campaign (which she has discussed with the New York Times).
Spooky. Palinistas are instructed to arrive at 3025 Kirby at 9 a.m. on Monday to receive one of the 500 precious wristbands required to enter the store. Only copies of America by Heart purchased at a Borders store are eligible for Palin's autograph, with a maximum of two books signed per wristband.
She'll only be signing her new book, and don't expect to stick around for long — Sarah will not be offering a reading or any sort of speech.
